Avon launches a new green initiative “Hello Green Tomorrow”, aimed to empower a women’s environmental movement.

source: hellogreentomorrow.com

The first step in this direction is a $1 million contribution to The Nature Conservancy to replant 1 million trees in the Atlantic Rainforest in South America. But the main feature of this green initiative is the woman-to-woman network of more than 6,2 million Avon sales representatives worldwide who could be a drive force for positive changes.

Avon recommends to start with green advices at hellogreentomorrow.com . They are about 5 subjects: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rethink and Replant.

The site visitors can follow them and also share their own ideas on Twitter by sending them to @avonprnewsflash with special tags #Reduce, #Reuse, #Recycle, #Rethink and #Replant.

At that, Avon composed its own responsibility document, the Avon Paper Promise, with principles related to sustainable forestry and its intension to reducing demand on the world’s forests and other resources.
