In February 2008 Chevrolet calculated that during its rather long brand history, there were a lot of nice songs about Chevrolet or Chevy.
Chevrolet have counted about 600 of such creations written by Billy Joel, The Beach Boys, ZZ Top, Eric Clapton, Elton John and many others.
So Chevrolet decided to create a music album “Ñhevrolet Legends” that would contain both famous songs and new melodies from Chevrolet owners and fans.
From February, 29 till March, 4 Chevrolet gathered songs about Chevrolet or Chevy at
chevrolet.musicnation.com . From about 700 uploads it chose the song
Chevy in Drive written by Jaymie Gerard and the David Lane’s melody
Down in Dixie.
The result of all these – the “Chevrolet Legends” album – was distributed in Europe printing 500 000 copies.
