Daniel Carasso returned to Paris to control the family business in France and Spain.
In USA he left his partner Joe Metzger to achieve the American branch. He also asked him to find a customer for Dannon because he wanted to concentrate his forces in Europe.
So in 1959 Dannon Milk Products Inc. was sold to Beatrice Foods Company. In the 60th Dannon brand made strong expansion to the west direction. The company bought a factory in Ohio and Texas. And owing to this fact Dannon became the first dairy product that was sold “from one coast to another”.
At that time Dannon and Danone developed separately. Beatrice Foods Company operated in USA, and Daniel Carasso worked in Europe. He merged with Gervais Company that was a leader in cheese production and with BSN Group a little bit later.
Thus, in 1973 BSN Gervais Danone was organized. It was a one from the biggest product associations with its net in 30 countries.
