A new Flickr’s partner of this project is the Bergen Public Library, one of the largest libraries in Norway. It begins its work on Flickr with two sets, one for Edvard Grieg, the Norwegian composer from the Romantic period, and another for Ole Bull, the great Norwegian violinist.
These are not only their personal photos but also photos of their families and friends about which Grieg has said:
“It is great to have friends when one is young, but indeed it is still more so when you are getting old. When we are young, friends are, like everything else, a matter of course. In the old days we know what it means to have them.”
