Step by step Gap goes new markets.

Last year Gap announced its expansion to China. This year the brand told it planned to open its first stores in Italy as well as an online-shop for European consumers. Now, it reports on Australia:

Gap signed a franchise agreement with Brand Republic, a subsidiary of Busby Holdings Australia, for exclusive rights to operate Gap brand stores in Australia.

The first results of these collaboration one can wait this fall, and the first Australian Gap store will be opened in Melbourne.

Currently more than 130 franchise stores are open in 20 countries, spanning Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.
