The reason is the confident growth of mobile traffic and mobile advertising.

For instance, according to the Morgan Stanley report, mobile internet usage is and will be bigger than most think. iPhone and Android users browse the Internet more often than anyone else, contributing to Google's 5x mobile search growth over the past two years. Also, they spend more and more time with their devices (up to 90 minutea a day).

It is informed that the purchase will cost Google 750 million dollars. All other questions such as integration of Admob and Google ads are set aside until the deal is formally closed, but some explanations could be get at google.com/admob .
