January 2, 2008 Guinness and the ad agency Irish International BBDO unveiled “The Dot” spot from the brand “Alive Inside” campaign.
In 60 seconds they told a story of one small dot that travelled over the world with Mr. Blue Sky melody played by Electric Light Orchestra.
While viewing this dot’s adventures it could be seen that it was a collective image of something (or somebody) who hadn’t found the life way yet.
There are always a lot of possibilities around, a lot of things to try, a lot of people to meet, a lot of places to visit. All these tried this small Guinness dot until it found itself in a glass of real Guinness beer (which was alive inside, of course).
Speaking about the advertisement, Ronan Beirne, Marketing Manager, Guinness said: “This advertisement is sure to capture the imagination of Guinness drinkers. It’s bursting with energy and you can’t help but be drawn into the world of the dot as it is, like Guinness, alive with possibilities”.
The New York based, Psyop worked on the animation.
