Every year in the frame of its branded project “Hennessy XO Literary Awards” Hennessy chooses the best Irish literary works in three categories: First Fiction (for writers publishing their first story), Emerging Fiction and Emerging Poetry.

It is the tradition which the brand supports since 1971, and each year the awards are adjudicated by different judges, chaired by Ciaran Carty, the editor of New Irish Writing.

This year we’ll know the winners on April, 27th.

It should be marked, that to become the part of the literary Hennessy’s heritage is possible more than one time. For instance, Iggy McGovern, “a physicist who also writes poetry - or a poet who is also a physicist”, made this twice: in 1995 and 1996.
