Hewlett-Packard asked PC users to amend their style of life. Bluntly speaking, it offered to turn off their computers when not in use.
The brand launched a new eco widget “Power To Change” that could be downloaded at
hp.com/powertochange (pic.).
With the widget users can watch and explore the energy savings their steps generates. These are saved kilowatt-hours of energy with details across countries, continents and separate users (which could be corporative users also).
For those who loves concrete data, Hewlett-Packard said that if 100 000 users shut down their work computers at the end of each day, energy savings could total more than 2 680 kilowatt-hours. These formulas could be seen
here .
The agency behind the project is Arc Worldwide Singapore.
