The new IKEA catalogue for 2010 could be seen by a special iPhone application.
It is developed by CakeGroup and is launched starting from the British market. The application allows users to flip through the pages and discover products for every area of the home, making them closer or putting them on a distance.
It is a version 1.0 supposed to be improved by users’ advices and recommendations. IKEA asks them to post all their ideas in Twitter using a tag
#ikeaappideas .
The brand thinks its new idea will provide a lightweight and an environmentally friendly alternative to the printed catalogue. It is known that the distribution of the IKEA Catalogue 2010 in the United Kingdom dropped by 40%, and IKEA is looking to continue that trend.
