In April, 2008, McDonald's launched in USA its special web site in order to answer some typical questions that consumers set to McDonald's.

These are about ingredients the brand uses to prepare its products, about varieties and features of products, about the ways to prepare marinades and many other subjects. The name of this project is “See what we are made of”.

It is also known that McDonald's is going to combine this information with recommendations of McDonald's partners and suppliers and add some data about territories where vegetables are grown.

The similar project was also created for English consumers. The only difference is that McDonald's offered consumers there to set any questions in the frame of the “Make Your Own Mind” brand initiative.

It was found that there were a lot of questions that consumers wanted to know. Some of them are quite simple, some are complex and controversial. For instance, people ask why McDonald's burgers are so small, why portions in England are smaller then the ones in the USA and so on .

McDonald's considers this project as an attempt to open up the conversation with its consumers.
