Starbucks has opened its first coffeehouse in Sweden. Now the brand is presented in 53 countries.
The store is opened at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport and is a result of the Starbucks’ license agreement with SSP Sweden, a Sweden arm of the SSP company.
Their agreement was signed in June, 2008 and now partners opened several stores in the UK, Spain, France, Germany and Switzerland.
“Our strategic relationship with SSP aligns with Starbucks strategy to open stores where customers expect it to be and meets the growing demand for high quality coffee and service in the travel channel,” – said Buck Hendrix, president, Starbucks Europe, Middle East and Africa. “This agreement further supports Starbucks intent to increase its international store growth with licensed partners who have proven experience and demonstrated success.”
