Twitter acquires Mixer Labs, developers of the GeoAPI application.

It means that the main Twitter’s question “What's happening?” becomes more precise – “What's happening? (and where?)”; users get the possibility to define from what point on the planet they are tweeting, and if something happens everybody will know not only about the episode (such as an earthquake), but also about its location.

Twitter announced its plans to unveil this feature in summer.

As for the sum of the agreement, it is undisclosed.
