It was found that men, may be, looked for girls in the wrong places.
Many guys go to bars and clubs to meet girls, but, according to the AXE’s survey, only 19% of girls met the last guy they dated at a bar. Besides, nearly one in four girls (24% of respondents) would be embarrassed to tell their families they’re dating a guy they met at a bar.
As for “nice guys”, girls said a coffee shop was the best spot to meet a nice guy (53%of respondents) followed by a bookstore (41%), gym (40%) and even grocery store (35%). Also, nine out of 10 girls admit that they’ve seen cute guys while going about their everyday routines who they wished would make a move and talk to them.
According to AXE, it is not necessary to look like a guy from a magazine’s cover to meet a nice girl. When being approached by a guy, the majority of girls (68%) said a guy’s approach style (such as confidence, wit and humor) matters most. Only 20% of girls said that physical appearance is important.
Usually, girls try to show their interest to a guy. The list of flirty “instruments” could include smiling (69%), asking for this guy’s opinion or advice on something (37%) or asking for the time (23%). But nearly 30% of girls said guys blew the most opportunities with girls by not doing or saying anything. Only 13% of girls think guys often "get it" when a girl tries to let him know she’s interested.
The Survey for Unilever and AXE brand was conducted by StrategyOne Research, February 2008, of 1 034 women aged 18-30 in USA.
