It has been found that when talking about something over a beer, football is the top of the league with more than 88% of votes. It leaves behind wives and girlfriends (45%), work (34%), money (24%) and cars (19%). At that, Heineken tells, men from Germany and France even placed work in second and with their wives and girlfriends coming in third.

Also, the list includes: night out (18%), family (16%), food (14%), holidays (12%) and films have been seen or to be seen (10%).

As for countries, Britain is supposed to be the most obsessed with football:

The survey showed that the typical Englishman watches football matches for 2 hours and 22 minutes every week and need 3 hours and 21 minutes more to chat about the latest results, tackles, goals or transfer gossip with their mates.

England is followed by Brazil, Thailand, Ireland and Mexico, while the table is closed with Holland, France and Russia with 92, 107 and 112 minutes correspondingly.

The Heineken’s survey was conducted among 5 300 men aged 25-40 in 15 countries (May, 2010).
