Christmas is coming, and many brands publish their studies and surveys devoted to the Christmas wishes, hopes and decisions.

That was the reason, that Herbalife , the brand specialized in weight management products, asked women about the common phenomenon “to grow thin till holidays”.

It was found that one of three women go on a pre-Christmas diet. Among those, who buy a special party dress, this share is even bigger, because about 50% of representatives of this group buy a dress at least one size less than their common own.

According to Herbalife, about 50% of women, which buy a small dress, will manage to lose enough weight to get into it while the other 50% will left it in a wardrobe or will return to the shop.

“Often dieters set themselves unrealistic targets and this can have a negative impact on their overall goals, leaving them feeling as though they have failed. Panic dieting in order to lose weight quickly for an event or special occasion can often be counter-productive in the long run”, - comments results of the survey Gavin Aley, director of Sales and Marketing, Herbalife.

The survey was conducted for Herbalife UK among 4 000 British women (December, 2009)
