Research company Infegy regularly analyses the number of brands’ mentions in blog posts, news feeds, forums, social networks and Twitter posts and publishes lists of the most mentioned brands.

And so, in the beginning of the 2010 Infegy composed a list of the most frequently mentioned brands in 2009.

As it could be seen (pic.), the past year could be named the year of the social media. A microblogging service Twitter left behind Google, the champion in 2008 and got the first position of the 2009 list. Also, Facebook became the third from the 9th position in 2008, and MySpace significantly improved its results.

The hot ten list contains Apple (the 8th place) as well as several products of this brand. These are iPhone (4), Mac (7) and iPod (9), while BlackBerry became the brand that demonstrated the best dynamics in comparison with the 2008 list.
