It was found that 69% of people go to work knowing they were sick. The top reason is a full workload with deadlines that don’t want to wait while people feel discomfort.

According to the Procter & Gamble’s survey, consumers rely on to get comfort during cold and flu season. 58% of respondents say taking a hot bath or shower relieves them the most and 24% of people being surveyed say they most enjoy the soothing scent of menthol and eucalyptus. But flu is a flu, means it is not only discomfort and unpleasant for people that are sick but also for people around them:

For example, 63% respondents find it more bothersome when people sneeze without covering their mouth versus someone speaking loudly on a cell phone in public.

61% of those surveyed say they always or often carry tissues outside of the home.

The survey for Procter & Gamble (Puffs Plus with the Scent of Vicks product) was conducted from May 30 June 1, 2008 by GfK Roper Public Affairs and Media Omnibus Services. The survey was conducted among a representative sample of adult men and women aged 18 years and older via 1 004 telephone interviews carried using an RDD methodology in the continental United States.
